Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel                                                    11434086                                                    RN-PACU DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU (Phase I & Phase II) Location: Bridgeport, CT Department: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Schedule: 40 Hours per Week | Staggered Shifts + Call Call Requirement: Weekend call required Approximately 3–4 call shifts within a 6-week schedule period Key Responsibilities Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia. Monitor vital signs, airway status, neurological status, and hemodynamic stability. Manage pain, nausea, and post-anesthesia complications. Administer medications and IV therapies according to physician orders and clinical protocols. Utilize Epic Systems for documentation and patient charting. Communicate patient status effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams. Prepare patients for discharge or transfer to inpatient units once recovery criteria are met. Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and recovery expectations.
