Company Overview The Eating Disorder Space is a fully virtual nutrition practice specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, and weight-inclusive medical nutrition therapy. We serve clients in various states, including New Jersey, New York, California, Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia. Our approach utilizes Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, trauma-informed, and equitable care to foster recovery and promote a healthy relationship with food and body. Our Specialties Include: Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, BED, OSFED, ARFID) Disordered Eating Meal Support Body Dysmorphia Orthorexia Exercise Dependence/Avoidance Weight Neutral Nutritional Counseling for Chronic Conditions Role Overview We are looking for a talented and compassionate 1099 contractor to provide virtual nutrition counseling sessions for our clients. Candidates must be registered dietitians (RDNs) with the required state licenses or be willing to obtain them, as well as possess active malpractice insurance. Being in-network with insurance providers is a must. Ideal candidates should have experience with eating disorders and understand the complexities of co-occurring mental health conditions. The perfect fit for this role is someone who is self-motivated, warm, dedicated, empathetic, and capable of working independently. We seek RDNs who are available for at least 5 hours of client sessions weekly, and while you can work remotely from anywhere, you must be based in New York. Flexibility in scheduling is key; however, consistent weekly availability is preferred to align with assigned clients. Start date: January 2026. Key Responsibilities Provide nutritional counseling and meal support sessions using a weight-inclusive, HAES-aligned, and non-diet approach. Document progress notes and treatment plans following insurance guidelines. Coordinate care with client treatment teams, including therapists and physicians, and involve family members as required. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations. Work independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. State licensure in New York/New Jersey and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as necessary. Minimum of one year of experience in eating disorder recovery. Strong knowledge of eating disorders, weight-inclusive care, HAES, medical nutrition therapy, and motivational interviewing. Exhibit professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity in problem-solving, organizational skills, and effectively work independently.
