Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant | Detroit | Orthopedics | Full Time | Days Location: Henry Ford Detroit Status: Full-Time | Days Schedule: Monday - Friday Setting: 50% Outpatient 50% Inpatient | 80% Adult 20% Pediatrics Call/Weekends: None Position Overview:Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Trauma team in Detroit, MI. This role includes independent trauma clinic responsibilities, inpatient coverage, and management of orthopedic trauma and consults in the ER and inpatient settings. Providers will perform procedures such as fracture and joint reductions, joint injections and aspirations, splinting, casting, and skeletal traction, as well as assist in surgery. The position offers a blend of inpatient and outpatient orthopedic exposure while serving as a first responder for orthopedic consults in Detroit. Qualifications:NP or PA graduate from an accredited program Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire) • 3 years of orthopedic experience with familiarity in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Will consider candidates with emergency medicine experience. Credentials:Education & Training • Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) Licensure • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required). Certification • PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) • NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP) Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire) DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
