Infection Control Registered Nurse - Full Time Your Role: As an Infection Control Registered Nurse, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive infection prevention and control programs. You will serve as a practitioner, educator, and facilitator, ensuring a healthy and secure environment throughout our facility. Key Responsibilities Include: Overseeing infection control and prevention programs to identify and limit the spread of infections among residents and staff. Reviewing and updating infection control policies and procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team. Managing the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Employee Health Program, and Universal Influenza Program. Participating as a member of the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee. Ensuring compliance with new hire screening, documentation, and immunization reporting according to state and federal regulations. Conducting rounds to identify potential hazards, monitor infection control practices, and assess adherence to safety standards. Developing and delivering educational programs for all staff. Tracking, analyzing, and presenting surveillance data, and creating action plans in alignment with the QAPI process. Maintaining accurate reporting and records as required by regulatory guidelines. A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology. Certification in Infection Control and Prevention prior to starting the role. A genuine interest in caring for the elderly and chronically ill, along with the ability to interact effectively with these groups. A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Strong clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills. Preferred experience in Long-Term Care or similar healthcare settings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
