A healthcare position is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in Rehab and Long-Term Care (LTC) in Sterling Heights, MI. This contract role supports a Critical Illness and Rehabilitation environment committed to delivering superior quality care while maintaining a safe and team-oriented work atmosphere. This position centers on providing holistic patient care including thorough nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission, developing individualized care plans, and actively participating in interdisciplinary team conferences. The nurse educates patients and families, initiates early discharge planning, documents all clinical activities accurately, and prioritizes safety for patients and staff alike. Leadership in guiding ancillary nursing personnel and maintaining open communication with physicians and nursing supervisors is critical to success. Key Responsibilities: Conduct timely comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to set and meet rehabilitation goals. Provide direct nursing care utilizing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation according to policy. Lead discharge planning and patient education from admission onward. Communicate patient status changes effectively among healthcare providers. Supervise and mentor ancillary nursing staff, delegating appropriately. Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols and nursing procedures. Contribute positively to unit teamwork and participate in team building. Manage supplies and resources responsibly to support quality patient outcomes. Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Pursue ongoing professional development and education. Desired Qualifications: Valid RN license with experience in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care settings. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
