We are looking for a Certified Nurse-Midwife that will provide medical care and treatment to obstetrical patients under the supervision of an OB/GYN Physician. Henry Community Health has a Level 1 Nursery and is designated as a Baby-Friendly Hospital. Job Details: Full-time Schedule: 4 to 4.5 day work week Call Schedule: will participate in the rotation with OB/GYN backup as needed. 1 day of call per week and 1 weekend of call per month. Hospital based and employed Must have RN background along with a graduate degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife EMR Cerner Competitive compensation and benefits package Duties/Responsibilities: Takes part in initial examination of patient, monitors course of pregnancy, advises on proper health practices, takes tests as appropriate, and reports any complications to the OBGYN Physician. CNM will be under the supervision of the physician and will be expected to hold a good working relationship with them. Prepares patients and their partners for delivery; trains mothers-to-be in exercise, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Attends and reassures patients throughout the course of labor, monitors the fetus condition, administers medications, notifies physician of prolonged labor or complications indicating need for possible surgical intervention. Delivers infant and checks mother and child to ensure that they are responding normally. During postpartum period, visits mother and child to give additional instruction in feeding and care of the newborn.
