Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS: As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our Agency's facilities, equipment, and grounds. Collaborate closely with your supervisor to perform both repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with federal, state, county, local, and Agency standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and functional environment. Effectively communicate with home supervisors/managers and team members to address repair needs and complete maintenance requests promptly. Develop and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules, following all regulations including Medicaid and Department of Health requirements. Assist in identifying maintenance needs, contributing to budget preparation, and ensuring the proper upkeep of facilities and equipment. Monitor the maintenance budget and work within approved financial limits. Complete documentation and submit expense reports in compliance with Agency and regulatory standards, including OSHA and Medicaid. Supervise and guide part-time and student maintenance staff as needed. Conduct training on maintenance issues in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Participate in the Agency's Safety and Health Committee if designated by your supervisor. Support the evaluation of emergency plans, including safety inspections and overall agency safety management. Attend all required training and in-services as directed by your supervisor. Be available for weekend and evening on-call duty on a rotating schedule with other maintenance staff as required. Maintain a clean, organized maintenance department that meets Agency and OSHA standards. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have 0 to 5 years of experience in general maintenance responsibilities, possess knowledge of various maintenance tools and equipment, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and develop and monitor budgets is essential. A current driver's license is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may involve lifting moderate to heavy objects and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures. Extended periods of standing may also be necessary. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work conditions will vary based on assigned tasks. WORK SCHEDULE: Flexibility in your schedule is necessary to accommodate the needs of those we serve.
