BASIC FUNCTIONS: As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our Agency's facilities, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained and meet all federal, state, and local standards. You will be responsible for conducting repairs and preventative maintenance as directed by your supervisor. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform general maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure safety and functionality. Collaborate with home supervisors and other staff to address maintenance requests promptly and effectively. Develop and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules, complying with all relevant regulations. Assist in identifying projected maintenance needs, including repairs and equipment upgrades, to aid in budget preparation. Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring adherence to approved amounts. Complete necessary documentation and expense reports according to Agency requirements and regulatory standards, submitting them in a timely manner. Supervise part-time and student maintenance staff on designated tasks. Conduct or assist in training on maintenance protocols as needed. Participate in the Agency's Safety and Health Committee as directed by your supervisor. Help monitor the effectiveness of emergency plans, including evacuation procedures and overall safety issues. Attend required training sessions to enhance your skills as directed by your supervisor. Be prepared to handle weekend and evening on-call duties on a rotating basis. Maintain an organized and clean maintenance department in accordance with Agency and OSHA standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for candidates with 0-5 years of experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, or related responsibilities. You should possess knowledge of various tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks, have strong organizational skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. A valid driver’s license is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position involves lifting moderate to heavy objects, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and may require long periods of standing.
