Job Profile Summary: As a vital team member, all drivers will run daily routes with frequent stops and are responsible for loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at designated customer locations in the order specified by the Transportation Department Manager. You'll operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back at the end of the route. Occasionally, you may assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times Unload products from the trailer, either by hand or using a hand cart, and place them in designated customer storage areas Transport products safely down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions Lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts Bend and twist while loading and unloading products Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures Communicate any discrepancies or customer complaints professionally Handle company equipment properly and adhere to safety rules Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and Sysco policies Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: 21+ years of age Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record Ability to read and speak English at a conversational level Ability to lift, push, or move products weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and up to 100 pounds repeatedly Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays Preferred Requirements: 1 year of customer delivery experience 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience 6 months of Food and Beverage industry experience 2 years of consistent work history
