Join a dynamic surgical team in Glenview, Illinois (Chicago-area, Cook County) as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN / Perioperative Nurse) for a 9-week travel contract. This acute care, teaching and Magnet hospital is a Level II trauma center with state-of-the-art facilities, robust surgical volumes, and a collaborative environment ideal for experienced Travel RNs and surgical nurses. Job Details Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel RN assignment Location: Glenview, IL 60026 (Chicago suburb; near Evanston, Skokie, Highland Park) Facility Type: Acute Care Teaching & Magnet Hospital, Level II Trauma Center Contract Length: 9 weeks (April 6, 2026 – June 8, 2026) Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour (07:00 – 15:30) Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Pay: $2200-$2310/week Call Requirements: 1-2 pre-assigned call shifts per week Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekend days per 8-week schedule Patient Ratio: 1:1 (perioperative/surgical RN staffing) Systems: Epic charting system Perks: Free onsite parking; access to professional development in a teaching hospital Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience (perioperative / surgical nursing) Active Illinois RN license required at time of application BLS required; CNOR preferred (certified perioperative nurse) Prior Travel RN experience required Experience in vascular, ophthalmology, general OR, trauma amputation required DaVinci robotic surgery experience preferred Epic charting experience preferred Willingness to float between Glenbrook, Skokie, Highland Park, and Evanston locations Maximum 5 days of requested time off during assignment 2 professional references preferred Key Responsibilities Scrub and circulate in Main OR for ophthalmology, general, vascular, urology, and robotic cases Provide perioperative nursing care consistent with OR RN standards and Universal Protocol (Time Out) Participate in pre-assigned call shifts and scheduled weekend coverage Maintain strict infection control, laser and radiation safety, and specimen handling protocols Administer blood products and monitor cardiac status when required Document accurately using Epic and adhere to hospital charting policies Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiology, pharmacy, anesthesia, and rapid response Float across designated hospital campuses in the Glenview/Chicago suburban area as needed Why Glenview?
