Job Title: Core & Coil AssemblerLocation: Waukesha, WIShift: 3rd ShiftPay: $31.96 per hourEmployment Type: Direct HirePosition OverviewOur client in Waukesha is seeking a Core & Coil Assembler to join their manufacturing team. This is a hands-on, heavy mechanical assembly role responsible for building internal transformer components. The position involves working with large parts, precision assembly, and utilizing cranes, hydraulic equipment, and industrial tools.This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who take pride in quality craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork.Key Responsibilities Perform heavy mechanical assembly of transformer core and coil components. Manually stack core steel laminations and assemble core structures. Position and install coils using overhead cranes. Operate hydraulic equipment to press coils and assemble components. Crimp insulated copper cables and complete precision assembly tasks. Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and technical specifications. Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S standards. Perform contamination control procedures such as vacuuming, magnetic sweeps, and equipment cleaning. Set up stacking tables and install core setup components. Lift and move cores to the next stage of the manufacturing process. Work closely with team members, engineering, and quality teams to ensure high-quality production. Train new operators as needed. Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE. Operate forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles to move parts and materials when required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in heavy mechanical or electrical assembly, manufacturing, or power equipment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial awareness. Experience using hand tools, torque wrenches, wire cutters, and other industrial tools . Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions. Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or hydraulic equipment is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
