Order Picker/Packer

Job DescriptionPosition: Order Picker/ Packer Pay: $16.50/hour Shift/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with 30 minutes for lunch or 7:30am-4:00 p.m. with 30-minute lunch. OT as needed Location: Plymouth, IN Warehouse Pickers and Packers. An Order Picker, or Picker Packer, is responsible for reading incoming orders and selecting the correct items from the warehouse shelves before staging them for shipment. This is a seasonal position; our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely, excellent communication skills, detail orientated and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Pickers must be able to accurately read a pick ticket and pull correct product from correct bin location, boxes, or other storage units in the warehouse and or coolers. Packers must be able to accurately verify quantities and products picked, match to pick ticket, prepare product for shipping, and package product for secure shipping to customer. Warehouse environment; climate-controlled warehouse and extended periods in coolers. Dress appropriately. Picker/Packer Duties and Responsibilities Perform daily picking and packing requirements to make sure customer orders are prepared and ready to ship to meet the requirements of carriers. Assist as needed in preparing large orders for LTL shipment. Always maintain a clean and safe workspace. Detail-oriented, need to verify that every item in the order is picked and packed correctly, pay attention to item name and quantity on the order. Ensure proper packing and placement of products, in a timely manner for secure shipping to the customer. Promote a safe, respectful, and positive work environment with co-workers. Abide by and enforce facility rules and state laws and regulations. Adhere to quality control of product and/or plants to ensure items meet our highest quality standards to ship to customers. Other additional duties as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Able to accurately read English letters and numbers. Warehouse picking or packing experience desired but not required. Physical stamina, able to work long hours on one's feet, in and out of coolers and lift to 50 pounds. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Working Conditions: The Picker/Packer will work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to cold temperatures, dust, noise, and other hazards associated with a warehouse setting.
