POSITION SUMMARY: The Material Handler role is essential for efficiently moving products within the Distribution Center (DC), including loading and unloading trailers, while using our warehouse management system to accurately track movements. Safety and efficiency are crucial, and certification to use powered industrial trucks is required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Become proficient in utilizing the Red Prairie Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF Scanners for effective inventory tracking. Maintain forklift certification and operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) safely to manage products within the DC. Load and unload trailers using PITs or manually, ensuring careful handling of all materials. Pull, deliver, and stage materials for manufacturing, confirming accuracy and timely delivery to designated areas. Post weights, manage shipping charges, prepare goods for shipment, and ensure all documentation is accurately completed (e.g., PO's, BOL's, receipts). Re-verify material weights and product quantities prior to shipment. Examine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory, guaranteeing that manufacturing lines are consistently well-stocked. Communicate any discrepancies in inventory to the relevant personnel promptly. Utilize the company ERP system for inventory transactions and maintaining precise records. Implement Yield Calculation Program to manage waste and rework, such as reclaiming tablets and capsules. Complete necessary documentation and dispose of materials appropriately. Adhere to hygiene practices and safety standards, ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for quality assurance and compliance. Demonstrate flexibility by rotating through various Material Handler tasks as required. Safely operate power equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, electric jacks, and cherry pickers. Perform additional duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not oversee any supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regular requirements include standing, walking, and engaging in movements such as reaching, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds frequently. Repetitive handling of products weighing up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment capabilities. Occasional exposure to wet conditions, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and toxic chemicals. Typical work environment features low to moderate noise levels. Involves operating PITs which may require working at heights of up to 32 feet. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a combination of education and relevant experience is preferred. Preferred experience of 3+ months in material handling or warehouse operations. Basic knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools and operate forklifts. Must obtain certification as a Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT) operator and complete in-house training. Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Demonstrated initiative with a strong focus on accuracy and timely reporting. Basic arithmetic skills are essential, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and the ability to interpret data.
