Job Title: Forklift Operator Location: Durham NC 27703 Duration: 26-day job assignment 1st shift 9am - 5:30pm Monday thru Friday Pay Rate is $ 18.20 an hourJob Description: Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. May maintain records. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision. Key Responsibilities Operate forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks. Move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within the facility. Maintain records as required. Follow clearly defined SOPs and scientific methods. Adhere to quality guidelines. Perform tasks in a metrics-driven environment. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Zero (3) to one (5) year warehouse or related experience and/or training. Obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications as needed. Basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production). Skills and Qualifications Develop skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area, process, or method. Apply basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand. Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English. Ability to perform basic math calculations. General computer skills. Physical Demands Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, lift, crouch, reach, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, and twist. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, including repetitive motion of wrists, hands, or fingers. May be required to lift and/or move over 50 lbs.
