Requisition ID: 8Location: US-WA-SeattlePosition Type: Per DiemHR Rep / Recruiter: Colin MixContact: ResponsibilitiesThe Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides ultrasound tests for patients. The sonographer works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.Explains procedures to the patient prior to scan and provides patient education materials.Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.Records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the scan and present to the physician.Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and maintaining ultrasound equipment.Participates in professional development trainings.Maintain required certification and registries.Performs other assigned duties as directed.QualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.RDMS Certification is required and must be maintained.Fetal Echo certification is strongly preferred.CPR certification required.ExperienceMinimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred.Experience Industry: HealthcareSkills/Abilities:Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
