Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. The RSIC is a vibrant and growing organization that honors traditional teachings and cultural heritage while embracing modern business practices and innovative governance. We employ over 300 individuals, including more than 150 tribal members, and are committed to fostering a professional work environment that encourages talent, motivation, and career development. Our vision is to support a strong, healthy community where individuals and families thrive—spiritually, physically, and emotionally—building a foundation for lasting well-being and success.Your day as a Dental Hygienist As a Full-Time Dental Hygienist at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases among our diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will include performing advanced prophylactic and preventative procedures for patients with various conditions, such as diabetes and periodontal disease. In this dynamic role, you will administer local anesthesia under dentist supervision, conduct thorough oral assessments, take dental radiographs, and provide patient education on effective oral hygiene practices. You will also participate in developing oral health education initiatives tailored for specific patient groups, including those with unique medical challenges. Collaborating with a team, you will create instructional materials and conduct engaging health programs while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.Your commitment to excellence and integrity will help foster a culture of safety and support within our community health center.Are you a good fit for this Dental Hygienist job?To excel as a Full-Time Dental Hygienist at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, candidates must possess essential skills and qualifications that ensure quality patient care. A graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States and a valid Dental Hygienist license in Nevada are mandatory requirements. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of professional experience, demonstrating proficiency in advanced dental hygiene practices. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for building rapport with patients and educating them on effective oral health strategies.A keen attention to detail is necessary for performing accurate assessments and administering treatments. Additionally, the ability to navigate dental software and tools will enhance patient management. Applicants must successfully pass a background and drug/alcohol test, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and patients.
