Forklift Operator I Operates a forklift to lift, load, or move material. Inspects, maintains, and repairs forklift equipment as needed. Key competencies include building collaborative relationships, innovation, adaptability, and developing self and others. Principal accountabilities and deliverables include reading sales orders, accurately pulling and packaging delivery orders, loading and unloading product, safely operating forklifts, performing daily inspections, notifying supervisors of maintenance needs, banding lumber, assisting in inventory management, and performing other work-related duties as assigned. Qualifications include 1 to 4 years of previous experience with forklifts and other machinery, forklift certification, good knowledge of lumber products, ability to model company values, delivering high-quality work, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as required. Abilities include the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for a small portion of the workday, and sit, walk, or move around for prolonged periods. The work environment includes exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, outdoor conditions, and loud noise.
