We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for an upcoming locum tenens opportunity in Anderson, South Carolina, providing inpatient behavioral health coverage due to a temporary physician shortage. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team, work with a manageable patient volume, and practice in a well-supported hospital setting. Position Highlights Location: Anderson, SC Practice Setting: Hospital-based Behavioral Health Unit Coverage Dates: Starting May 2026 (exact dates TBD) Reason for Coverage: Maternity leave Patient Population: Adults: 60% Geriatric: 40% Average Daily Census: 20 patients in the Behavioral Health unit EMR: EPIC Schedule & Call Schedule: Varies based on patient volume Call Coverage: Call ratio: 1:4 One provider on call at a time Four physicians share call coverage Mid-Level Support: 1 NP (locum will provide supervision) Scope of Responsibilities Prescribing narcotics as clinically indicated Pre-admission screening review and documentation per CMS guidelines Weekly care plan documentation Discharge summaries and medication reconciliation Facility Support 24-hour lab availability 24-hour anesthesia availability Behavioral Health unit setting ️ Travel & Compensation Comprehensive malpractice coverage provided Complimentary travel and lodging Flight, hotel, rental car or mileage Pay rates are negotiable and discussed upon interest Requirements Board Certified Psychiatrist Active South Carolina license NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) BLS / ACLS Preferred Fellowship training Preferred
