Job Description

Underwriting Manager Manage an assigned underwriting territory to achieve profitable growth, including underwriting new business, endorsements and other relevant transactions. Identify new business opportunities and manage agency relationships. Responsibilities Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing. Maintains compliance with state filings and adheres to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operates within written authority granted and makes referrals to Home Office Underwriting as required. Collaborates closely with territory team. Keeps peers and Territory Management informed of all issues and activity. In collaboration with Territory Management, develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting territory goals. Collaborate with the team to develop, manage and maintain outside client relationships that will include traveling in the territory to meet with agents, producers. Actively participate in industry events as required such as but not limited to agency or association conventions. Provides professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to policyholders and territory producers. Keeps current with market trends and demands. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 1+ years of experience in a Worker's Compensation underwriting role Must have workers compensation underwriting expertise Knowledge of property and casualty underwriting procedures and discipline a plus Knowledge of commercial lines products, coverages and pricing practices a plus Strong analytical ability and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills The expected salary range for this role is $53,000-$85,000/yr Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
