We look for dynamic people who: are hardworking, team-oriented and take initiative have great attitudes, high energy and enjoy focusing on customers can communicate well, set good examples and comfortably take the lead will hold themselves accountable for doing a great job everyday are interested in elevating their career with a company who genuinely cares about them SUMMARY: The Warehouse Summer Associate is responsible for the distribution of building materials product (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials product at designated warehouse locations. • Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management and other employees. • Read work orders/ invoices to determine product needs for customer pick-up or delivery. • Frequently lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds. • Operate a forklift to load a customer's vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move product in stock, etc. • Clean warehouse area(s) including, organization of materials, sweeping warehouse floors and parking lot areas, emptying trash cans, etc. • Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned. CUSTOMER SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY INTERACTION: • Provide personalized customer service through direct, in-person conversations and phone conversations. • Communicate with managers, other employees and customers. • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions, both in-person and electronically through technology mediums. • Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • A valid driver's license is preferred. • Knowledge of building materials product is preferred. • Forklift and/or Moffett experience are preferred. • Ability to lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds. • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. • Strong basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
