Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in St. Louis, MO where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program. Current Missouri state license in good standing with the State License Board. Registry as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). One year experience as an RRT, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting. BLS certification required. Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators and providing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support. Competence with arterial puncture, oximetry, capnography, 12-lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing. Ability to perform airway management including suctioning, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion via free-hand or video laryngoscope techniques. Ability to assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and PleurX drainage when indicated. Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines. Client preference: must be available to work a block of Fridays as part of the schedule. Preferred: ACLS certification and prior experience in trauma or critical care environments.
