Job Title: AssemblerJob Description The primary focus of this role is on soldering wires to complete battery assemblies. This position requires an individual comfortable with repetitive tasks, proficient in computer usage, and possessing strong hand dexterity. Soldering is a significant component of the duties involved. Responsibilities Assemble battery packs and subassemblies using specialized tooling and equipment, including soldering (surface mount and through-hole) and resistance spot welding, in strict accordance with work instructions, control plans, and blueprints. Comply fully with MPS Pack Assembly safety requirements, lithium-ion handling precautions, safety protocols, and all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. Perform in-process and final inspections, visual quality checks, and functional/product testing to verify conformance to specifications and identify defects. Execute shipping preparation procedures and accurately complete delivery receiving records, packaging documentation, and related paperwork. Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant work environment at all times. Practice safe work habits and adhere to all company safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Support lab operations as required, including sample labeling, data recording, and assistance with functional testing. Participate in cross-training initiatives and contribute to process improvements, standardization efforts, and team problem-solving activities. Essential Skills Strong hand dexterity and ability to hold large clamps to piece together the framing of electronics. Experience in small parts assembly or electronics roles. Proficiency in soldering. Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Familiarity with IPC quality standards for ISO compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to read and interpret work instructions in English. ITAR compliant documentation. Minimum of one year of experience in a related assembly, manufacturing, or technician role (electronics, electromechanical, or battery assembly experience strongly preferred). Demonstrated soldering proficiency, including surface-mount and through-hole components; certification or hands-on experience meeting IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001 standards is highly preferred. Work Environment The work environment includes a small production floor where tasks are performed on a workbench. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
