Job Description Mission/Purpose: The assembler's purpose is to build and assemble quality products in a timely and efficient manner, process and record RMA's (returned merchandise), utilize the use of machines and equipment, and ensure that all products meet our quality standards. Role Competencies Attention to detail Stay on task and work efficiently Mindfulness and awareness of surroundings Adaptability Self-motivated Dexterity Constantly learning and improving Cultural Fit: The Sterling Lighting Core Values We Have "I Can" Attitudes We Take Initiative We Are Teachable We Believe in Trust We Are Loyal We Own the Outcome Day to Day Responsibilities Maintain a neat and orderly work area in compliance with 5S Build and assemble quality products in a timely and efficient manner Receive, evaluate, and process RMA's and ensure well documented in all applicable systems Inspect, repair, and replace components as needed in luminaires that do not meet our quality control standards when received from factory Conduct performance testing of luminaires, such as heat testing, leak testing, corrosion testing, seal testing, general troubleshooting, etc. Accurately recording and documenting all test results and ensuring they are entered in applicable systems. Disassemble and prepare products for recycling Assist in the unloading of shipping containers and prepare them for stocking (approximately 1-2 times per month) Machines and equipment frequently used by the assembly team for various tasks include: Sand Blaster Volt Meter Desktop Power Source Robotic Arm Pallet Jack Air Compressors Thermal Imaging Camera Ultrasonic Welding Machine Screw guns, wire crimpers, calipers, soldering iron, and other equipment of a similar nature Duties as assigned Targets/Outcomes Within 45 days from hiring, employees are expected to: Complete all company training Possess a general understanding of the Sterling Lighting product lineup Show a general understanding of how the luminaire internals work and how they relate to the product and a lighting system as a whole Know how to evaluate our products and document required data when receiving an RMA Show how to disassemble and assemble products Show to troubleshoot luminaires and other products RequirementsOne year Assembly experience, preference given to those in a related field such as electronics, lighting, and other consumer products.
