Primary Department Served: Medical ProvidersReports to: Chief Medical OfficerClassification Level:Non-Exempt HourlyPart-Time; Opportunity to transition to Full-Time (based on the needs of the company)Note: No night or weekend on-call requirements.Compensation$52.88 - $55.28 per hour Job SummaryThe Outpatient Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) functions as a highly valued member of the Colorado Psychiatry Solutions medical team. This provider will perform psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications, and contribute to the implementation of integrated treatment plans for patients with complex psychiatric conditions. Care will be provided with an emphasis on harm reduction and evidence-based interventions.This role is a good fit for professionals who are highly motivated, compassionate, and committed to improving outcomes for patients with treatment-resistant mental health challenges.Scope of Duties: Essential FunctionsPatient CareProvide outpatient and/or telehealth psychiatric careConduct psychiatric evaluations, including interviews with patients and family as neededDiagnose mental health conditions and formulate differential diagnosesDevelop and implement individualized treatment plansPrescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including ketamine and TMS as appropriateMonitor treatment outcomes and make adjustments as neededOrder and interpret relevant labs and diagnostic testsPrioritize harm reduction and limit controlled substance prescribing, including stimulants and benzodiazepinesCollaboration & SupervisionCollaborate closely with CPS psychiatrists and medical directorsWork in partnership with therapists, care coordinators, and external providersSupervise and guide medical support staff (nurses, medical assistants, technicians)Documentation & ComplianceMaintain timely and accurate documentation in the EHR within 48 business hoursEnsure compliance with all legal, ethical, and clinical standardsMaintain an active, unrestricted license in Colorado as a PA-C or PMHNPHolistic & Integrative CareIncorporate lifestyle, nutrition, trauma history, and psychosocial factors into treatment planningApply integrative psychiatric practices as appropriateProfessional StandardsStay current with advancements in psychiatry and behavioral healthParticipate in team training and continuous improvement activitiesUphold Colorado Psychiatry Solutions mission: Providing hope and healing for treatment-resistant mental health conditions.Skill RequirementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSound clinical judgment and critical thinking - deductive and inductive reasoning Compassionate, ethical patient interactionsHigh level of organization and professionalismAdaptability and commitment to learningStrong boundaries and ability to maintain confidentialitySensitivity and perceptivenessQualificationsRequiredPA-C Applicants:Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant programActive and unrestricted Colorado PA licenseNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certificationCurrent CPR certificationPMHNP Applicants:Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited PMHNP programActive, unrestricted Colorado Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certificationPrescriptive authority in Colorado, including a DEA license with Schedule II-V privilegesCurrent Colorado RXN-NP (Prescriptive Authority) and DORA registrationCurrent CPR certificationPreferredAt least 1 year of clinical experience in psychiatry or behavioral healthExperience with treatment-resistant mental health conditionsCertificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry (PA-C) or post-masters PMHNP certificationTraining in integrative psychiatry, psychedelic medicine, or addictionMilitary Veteran status or experience working with military/underserved populationsPhysical RequirementsFull range of motion including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationOccasional sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stretchingAbility to lift up to 20 pounds occasionallyAdequate hearing and speaking to communicate effectively in person and remotelyOther Duties and Scope FlexibilityThis job description outlines the essential functions of the position.
