Industrial Shop HelperNE Portland$27-28/hr.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a hard working Shop Helper to join our team. You will play a crucial role in our production process by operating cranes, handling materials, and ensuring product quality. This role requires attention to safety, precision in operation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities Operate overhead and wall walker cranes using remote or pendant controls. Secure rigging devices such as chains, straps, hooks, and magnets for lifting materials. Transport materials using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. Perform safety inspections and complete applicable checklists. Set up and operate saws to cut materials per specifications and monitor multiple saws. Use hand tools to measure and verify material dimensions and quality. Utilize computer systems for documentation, labeling, scanning, and printing. Use grinders and sanders to remove burrs and rough edges from materials. Label and package products for shipping using appropriate materials and banding equipment. Perform maintenance tasks such as changing saw blades, propane tanks, and sideloader batteries. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping shavings and clearing debris. Participate in safety, quality, and job training sessions. Initial training will be conducted in a conference room for the first week, followed by transition to shifts starting at 2:30 PM with likely 12-hour durations.
