Job Title: Assembly Technician IJob DescriptionAs an Assembly Technician I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and/or hand tools to complete the assembly and/or sub-assembly of component parts. You will be part of the Assembly team, working in the Assembly Cell to put together sub-assemblies, ensuring alignment, and running them through the press machine. You will also conduct quality checks and pack finished coolers into shipping containers.Responsibilities Perform assembly tasks in the Assembly Cell, including putting together sub-assemblies and running them through the press machine. Conduct quality checks and pack finished coolers into shipping containers. Test units using air pressure after pressing. Work according to work orders in the Bundle Department, setting up baffles into fixtures. Use calipers to measure distance between end baffles and copper tube ends. Insert 'Cores' into the casting and prepare for the pinning and pressing process. Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, and maintenance. Visually inspect work and/or use measuring devices to ensure all quality standards are met. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly at all times. Perform necessary computer transactions in various computer applications and software programs. Perform other miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed by Team Lead or Manager. Essential Skills Mechanically inclined with the ability to use power tools. Attention to detail with two years of hands-on experience. Ability to work with both hands and use basic hand tools. Safety conscientious with a willingness to cross-train. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (MDAS, decimals). Ability to read at an 8th-grade level to comprehend work orders. Direct manufacturing assembly experience is a plus. The pressing operation is ergonomic, with a history of 5+ years without a work loss injury. Team sizes range from 3 to 6 individuals, and the facility has over 75 employees. The facility has undergone significant upgrades, ensuring a clean and modern workspace. The dress code requires PPE such as steel toe boots, long work pants, safety glasses, and optional hearing protection.
