2nd shift - Material Handler

Job DescriptionPosition Title: Material Handler Wage: $20.00 per hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2:00pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in Earth City, MO. This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire. Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Load, unload, and move steel products and materials within the warehouse or production areas. - Prepare materials for processing, production, or shipment according to work orders. - Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, or banding equipment (as authorized). - Verify material type, size, quantity, and condition to ensure accuracy and quality. - Assist with receiving and stocking incoming inventory. - Pick, stage, and package materials for customer orders and shipments. - Maintain accurate inventory counts and complete required documentation. - Follow all company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE. - Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. - Communicate material issues, shortages, or damage to Supervisors or Team Leads. - Assist with other warehouse or operational tasks as needed. Material Handler Requirements: - High school diploma or GED preferred. - Ability to read and interpret work orders, tags, and basic measurements. - Basic math skills and attention to detail. - Strong safety awareness. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Reliable attendance and punctuality. - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. - Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.; heavier materials moved with equipment. - Ability to work with heavy metal products in an industrial environment. - Warehouse and industrial steel-handling environment. - Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and heavy materials. - Prior experience in material handling, warehouse, or steel industry environments preferred. - Forklift and/or overhead crane experience preferred. - Knowledge of inventory systems, barcoding, or scanning processes preferred.
