Job Title: Inventory Specialist Job DescriptionWe are seeking an organized and diligent Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role will involve overseeing shipping and receiving duties, coordinating shipments, maintaining inventory, and supporting production. The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting and be capable of operating warehouse equipment.Responsibilities Perform shipping and receiving duties, including the coordination of carriers based on customer purchase orders. Support the shipment of goods produced and the receipt of goods and supplies for production and storage. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials and forward requisitions for approval. Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, adhering to safety regulations. Perform stockroom duties, including pulling component parts or finished goods and delivering them to the appropriate work cell. Receive and verify component parts and finished goods, stock them in the proper inventory location. Enter inventory transactions into the database and manage serialization and traceability. Perform daily cycle counts and enter data into the database. Collaborate with Production Control to resolve inventory balance issues. Build skids and crates for shipping materials. Make pick-ups and deliveries using a company van. Interpret packing slips and enter correct information into databases and portals. Sort, count, package, label, and log inventory for shipping and receiving. Engage with employees, supervisors, and managers on the floor. Work collaboratively with Final Audit and Production Supervisors. Operate plant and warehouse equipment such as forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks. Work first shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime including weekends and holidays. Essential Skills Experience in inventory, cycle counts, forklift operation, shipping, and receiving. High School Diploma or GED with at least one year in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing setting. Proficiency in reading, writing English, following verbal instructions, and performing simple math. Experience with computers and common software such as Outlook, Internet Explorer, or Chrome. Familiarity with business software programs or ERPs. Experience with shipping and customer portals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Valid CT driver’s license and an insurable driving record. Ability to estimate weight and calculate shipping costs. Familiarity with packaging methods and visual aids for packaging requirements. Licensed forklift operator or ability to become certified. Proficiency in processing shipments using UPS/FEDEX, DHL online software. Capability to fill out bills of lading and understand freight carrier forms. Ability to load/unload materials and packages.
