Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540 Location: Tyler, TX 75701 (Tyler, Texas / East Texas travel nursing) Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026) Shift: 3x12 hour days (07:00 – 19:00) Hours per Week: 36 Unit: 3 South – Med/Surg Neuro (19 private rooms) Patient Ratio: 1:6 Charting / EMR: Epic (experience with Epic charting preferred) Clinical Focus: Neurology, Neurosurgical care, Telemetry RN responsibilities Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro RN experience (neuroscience, stroke, or neurosurgical care) Travel nursing experience preferred (neuro travel nurse / travel RN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license NIHSS and BLS certifications required Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) Comfort managing patient ratios of 1:6 on a med/surg neuro unit Applicants must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris Key Responsibilities Provide medical-surgical level care and monitoring for adult patients with neurology and neurosurgical diagnoses (neurosurgical nurse duties) Interpret dysrhythmias and continuously monitor telemetry and oximetry (telemetry RN skills) Manage feeding tubes, ports, and pre/post hemodialysis care Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines Perform wound care and manage wound vacs Activate and work with rapid response and code teams as needed Administer oxygen therapy, including high-flow nasal cannula Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to PPE protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social work, and case management This opportunity is ideal for experienced Neuro RNs and travel nurses seeking med/surg neuro experience in Tyler, Texas.
