This role is critical to upholding those values through disciplined material control and attention to detail.Position SummaryThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate, secure, and compliant handling of high-value precious metal materials. This position requires a hardworking and spirited individual with exceptional attention to detail and a clear understanding of the financial and operational importance of precision, documentation, and accountability. This is not a routine shipping position. Every package represents significant material value and customer trust. Errors are unacceptable. Initiative, focus, and a commitment to excellence are mandatory.Key ResponsibilitiesShipping & Packaging: - Package precious metal materials accurately according to internal procedures and customer-specific requirements - Verify correct material type, weight, quantity, and condition prior to shipment - Ensure all shipments comply with customer instructions, carrier requirements, and security protocols - Maintain a clean, organized, and secure packaging area Receiving & Inspection: - Receive incoming materials and verify weights, quantities, and documentation - Perform visual and dimensional inspections to confirm material integrity - Identify and report discrepancies immediately Measurement & Verification: - Measure materials accurately using micrometers and calipers - Verify weights using calibrated scales and record results clearly - Maintain strict adherence to specifications and tolerances Documentation & Traceability: - Complete all shipping, receiving, and inspection paperwork clearly and legibly - Ensure all required inspections and sign-offs are completed accurately - Maintain full traceability and chain-of-custody documentation Compliance & Accountability: - Follow all written work instructions and procedures without deviation - Demonstrate awareness of the high value and critical nature of materials handled - Take ownership of accuracy, quality, and continuous improvementRequired Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent - Ability to read and understand written instructions at a high school level or higher - Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain focused on precision work - Ability to read and use micrometers and calipers accurately - Clear, neat, and legible handwriting required - Strong basic math skills, including weights and measurements - Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and ability to work independently - Hardworking, spirited attitude with a commitment to excellence and integrityPreferred Qualifications- Experience working with precious metals or other high-value materials - Prior shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or controlled environment - Familiarity with quality systems, inspections, or material traceability processesPhysical & Work Environment Requirements- Ability to stand for extended periods - Ability to lift and move materials within safety guidelines - Ability to work in a secure, controlled manufacturing environmentPerformance ExpectationsSuccessful performance in this role is measured by: - Zero-defect shipments - Accurate weights and complete documentation - Consistent compliance with procedures - Demonstrated care, accountability, and professionalism This role is not intended for individuals seeking a basic packing position.
