Job Description

The Dedicated Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the profitability and success of dedicated accounts through efficient day-to-day operations. This role includes managing drivers, planning loads, and handling customer service functions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Key operational responsibilities include supervising personnel, generating revenue, managing billing, ensuring safety, monitoring equipment maintenance, and processing driver payroll. As the main point of contact, you will engage in direct interactions with customers while effectively managing: Account profitability and growth Revenue generation and invoicing Personnel management and driver retention Fleet sizing and load planning Daily oversight of 0-10 office personnel and 1-200 drivers assigned to the account Responsibilities include: Focusing on driver training and retention strategies Maximizing asset utilization while improving idle reduction and fuel efficiency Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing various factors including origin, destination, freight type, mileage, and driver availability through various communication methods Upholding safety standards with support from the corporate safety department and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Promoting a safety culture aimed at reducing costs associated with lost production, insurance premiums, and legal expenses Championing innovation while thoroughly understanding operational hazards Eliminating or minimizing health and safety risks Implementing processes to adhere to specific regulations and obligations Auditing weekly invoicing for accuracy Establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships with drivers, internal associates, and customers Collaborating with various departments (billing, customer service, risk, payroll, etc.) to ensure smooth operations Monitoring performance metrics and attending customer meetings Coordinating maintenance for assets and equipment designated for the account Handling HR functions including interviewing, hiring, discipline, and separations Completing required reporting for internal and external stakeholders Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel Qualifications include: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Management, or Transportation/Logistics, or a relevant combination of education and experience 2-3 years of customer service experience preferred 2-3 years of transportation experience preferred 1-2 years of experience with AS400 and PC systems preferred The expected starting pay range for this position is $68,125.20 - $90,833.60 annually, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
