Job Description

A well‑established organization is seeking a detail‑oriented and strategic Controller to oversee its day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This role will manage all core accounting activities, lead a team of five accounting professionals, and ensure the integrity of financial systems, internal controls, and audit readiness. This position will partner closely with department leaders across the organization, providing financial guidance, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes. Responsibilities Serve as the primary resource for accounting and finance matters, offering support and guidance to internal stakeholders. Oversee the organization’s chart of accounts and accounting systems, ensuring adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures designed to strengthen internal controls and minimize risk. Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; lead the fiscal year‑end close process. Coordinate all aspects of the annual external audit and collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate and efficient completion. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance environment. Produce recurring and ad hoc financial analyses and reporting for senior leadership. Manage reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank statements. Oversee banking relationships and monitor liquidity to support operational needs. Support grant and funding compliance efforts, ensuring proper financial oversight and reporting. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. 8+ years of accounting experience, including at least five years in a leadership role. Experience in nonprofit, public accounting, or similarly structured environments preferred. #INMAR2026 #LI-CC1
