Senior Accountant

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Pittsburgh, PA $85,000- $100,000 We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing construction organization. This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions with a strong emphasis on job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a solid understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting. OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE: Manage month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and analyze financial statements Maintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts Oversee job costing and project cost tracking Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Support revenue recognition under percentage-of-completion method Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project financials Monitor cash flow and support billing processes (including progress billing) Assist with external audits and tax preparation Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and WIP reporting Experience with construction ERP systems
