Description The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and the contract's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management. Job Summary Under direct supervision, performs physical tasks to include inspection, processing, receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping MTE, materials, and equipment. Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within docking areas. Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to load, unload, transport, stage, and store MTE goods and materials throughout the MTESC warehouse. Performs routine tasks following established guidelines. Essential Functions: Receives capture receipt of MTE shipments (date arrived, date unloaded, content information, inventory number, quantity, trailer number, and dispatching location). Identify incoming MTE damage or quantity discrepancy on carrier's delivery ticket and notify COR. Sorts, inspects processes, packages, bands, and stretch wraps USPS MTE. Verifies that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods for shipment against documents. Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles. Prepares and maintains records of items shipped. Stages outgoing MTE shipments checking tally sheet against order and BOL to ensure accuracy. Load and secure MTE with straps or load bars to prevent movement during transport. Complete daily forklift inspections prior to use, identify deficiencies, and provide to management. Operate forklift or pallet jack to load/unload carriers with or without using truck ramp, and transport, organize and store MTE or other materials and supplies. Palletize and wrap items using available equipment and stack palleted MTE or other material as needed. Reads a variety of documents to include work and/or shipping orders, and requisitions. Moves items from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas by hand or material-moving equipment. Performs inventory and maintains records. Perform general housekeeping functions for a safe work environment. Marginal Functions: Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures to include Job Assessment Planning and Stop Work Authority. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, and other potential allergens. Frequent, short duration (>30 min) exposure to the elements i.e. weather variations Occasional, extended duration ( Physical and Mental Demands Frequent bending, standing, walking, sitting. Ability to lift to 20 lbs. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer and peripherals. Ability to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner with senior level staff and customers. Use of appropriate PPE i.e. hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes. Use of appropriate hand tools i.e. hammer, screwdriver, pry bar, plyers, wrench, etc. Qualifications Experience: Two years of work experience with one year in the general supply field or logistics field. Desired: Advanced data entry experience. Skills: Must be able to read and comprehend supply related instructions, publications and apply requirements to job duties. Must be capable of entering data on computer forms and have basic computer skills Desired: Familiar with the Army or military Logistics Information Systems. Certificate, License, Registration, etc.: Possess a valid state driver's license and applicable material handling equipment license. Education High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
