Job Description We are seeking an Accountant 2 to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong experience in government accounting, cash management, reconciliations, and QuickBooks with a proven ability to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance, and improve fiscal processes. Responsibilities: Prepare and evaluate agency financial statements for completeness and compliance with standards. Track cash balances, federal fund deposits, receivable transfers, and record cash receipts within deadlines. Manage and collect outstanding client payments, resolve overdue bills, and negotiate payment plans. Analyze accounting systems, procedures, and policies to improve financial operations and fiscal management. Identify financial issues and recommend solutions; update and correct ledgers and accounts. Maintain accurate records and perform daily and monthly transactions using QuickBooks. Compile and summarize financial data to prepare activity and status reports. Monitor cash activities, maintain ledgers, and process entries and revisions to agency accounts. Ensure proper matching of state and federal expenditures and monitor grant funding. Conduct wire reconciliations and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Prepare federal reports, cash forecasts, and perform daily and bi-weekly draws. Monitor and ensure compliance with the Treasury State Agreement; produce ad-hoc reports. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency with automated accounting systems and spreadsheets to create, develop, monitor, and reconcile fiscal records and reports. Strong analysis, interpretation, and communication of financial data. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Knowledge of GAAP, SAAM, ARS, federal regulations, internal controls, and government accounting principles. Preferred Skills: Financial experience within a government or grant-funded environment.
