Hospice of Marion County, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to work with us at our inpatient units in Marion County while providing exceptional care. What you'll Do Under physician's orders, the Care Center Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. The Care Center RN utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit. The Care Center RN provides direction and oversight of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN partners with care center manager, the patient, the patient's family or caregiver, and other staff members on a consistent basis. The RN is required to work where needed and will be reassigned to another Care Center based on business needs. Why Join Empath Health? What You'll Need Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting. An equivalent of education and experience may be considered. Licensure: Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse Valid Florida State Driver's License Continuing Education: As required for licensure. Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation. Must be able to remain flexible and work at alternate facility where there is a business need for reassignment for one or more shifts at an alternative facility. When this occurs, the colleague is responsible for their own transportation to the alternate facility and at their expense. If mode of transportation is self-driving to that facility, the colleague must maintain an active, valid driver's license and proof of valid automobile insurance, both of which will be placed in the colleague's HR file.
