Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant

NextCare Urgent Care San Antonio, TX (US Highway 281) NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our San Antonio US Highway 281 clinic. This role is ideal for an experienced provider who is comfortable practicing independently. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat urgent care patients in accordance with clinical best practices Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with NextCare s mission and values Independently manage patients in a solo-provider clinic setting Diagnose conditions and develop clear treatment plans Accurately document care in the electronic health record (EHR) Ensure appropriate coding and billing Maintain clinical productivity consistent with industry standards Schedule & Clinic Hours Full-time position Clinic hours: Mon Fri: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM Sat Sun: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM Providers typically work three 12-hour shifts per week Rotating weekends and holidays shared among the provider team Assigned a home clinic at US Highway 281 Occasional floating to nearby NextCare clinics may be required (within reasonable driving distance) Qualifications Active, unrestricted Texas medical license Active DEA registration NCCPA certification (PA) or ANCC/AANP certification (NP FNP required) Bachelor s degree in PA studies or Master s degree in Nursing Active BLS certification Comfortable treating patients of all ages Strong EHR proficiency 1+ year of urgent care experience strongly preferred Experience practicing independently, including X-ray interpretation and minor procedures DOT certification may be required (training provided if needed) Benefits NextCare offers comprehensive benefits for full-time providers, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; CME and license reimbursement; malpractice insurance; paid time off; disability and life insurance options; and access to a 401(k) plan.
