Desktop Support Technician

A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Technician to join their team in the McLean, Virginia area. Responsibilities: Perform physical workstation conversions, including setup, removal, and replacement of IT equipment Handle laptop swaps, upgrades, and device deployments for end users Support cable management, docking station setup, monitors, and peripheral connectivity Stage, track, and organize new and returned IT equipment Follow documented procedures for device imaging, configuration, and secure wiping of returned devices Maintain accurate tracking of converted, staged, and returned assets Provide basic end-user support during device swaps and upgrades Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and deployment workflows Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 1+ year of experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, and/or Hardware Deployment Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, laptops, docks, monitors, and peripherals. Ability to follow documented technical processes and procedures Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Desired Qualifications: CompTIA A+ or similar foundational IT certification Experience with Device Imaging and Deployment processes Experience tracking assets or working in Inventory / Staging environments Familiarity with Ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
