Quality Analyst (Tester)

Job title: Quality Analyst (Tester) Location: Atlanta, GA ( ON-site) Duration: 6 months Note: Either Web Cam or In Person Onsite Required: Due to the essential nature of the work to be performed, this position REQUIRES the selected candidate to work ONSITE for the duration of the assignment. Previous DOL work experience, preferred Job description: Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Analyst (Tester) to support critical application testing efforts. This role will involve writing test cases, executing tests, validating results, and identifying/logging defects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in testing Java applications and working with JCL on IBM/DELL mainframe operating systems. Responsibilities Analyze business requirements and develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Java applications on distributed platforms. Perform database testing with Postgres and DB2, including writing queries and verifying data integrity. Execute program changes, update test files, run tests, review results, and ensure program changes meet provided requirements. Utilize Jira for defect tracking and project management. Prepare both program-level and user-level documentation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Organize and guide testing teams to meet goals and tight deadlines, fostering transparency and collaboration. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience testing Java programs. Proven experience with DB2 and Postgres. Strong understanding of the full SDLC, including writing and executing test cases, integration testing, and deployment. Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug software for accuracy and efficiency. Strong analytical skills for non-database functions, data error correction, and creating analysis/summary reports. Experience preparing both program-level and user-level documentation. Excellent communication skills to obtain user sign-off before production deployment. Ability to follow organizational source code checkout, migration, and release management guidelines. Commitment to optimizing software for better performance and reduced processing time.
