Job Summary: The Warehouse Coordinator II plays a key leadership role within the warehouse operations team, taking on advanced responsibilities related to inventory management, receiving processes, and material handling. The role focuses on overseeing complex tasks such as inventory audits, implementing process improvements, and ensuring efficient warehouse workflows. In this position, the Warehouse Coordinator II not only manages the daily operations but also works closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the entire supply chain, enhancing warehouse efficiency. This individual is expected to be a proactive problem-solver, a mentor to junior team members, and an expert in managing warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. Duties/Responsibilities: Advanced Inventory Control & Organization: Lead inventory processes, verifying shipments and managing warehouse organization to ensure optimal use of space and resources. Conduct regular inventory audits, identifying discrepancies, and working with the management team to resolve issues proactively. Develop and execute strategies to reduce overstock and streamline inventory operations. Material Handling & Equipment Operation: Supervise safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles to move materials between locations efficiently. Train and mentor junior warehouse staff on equipment usage and material handling best practices. Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving for equipment or operational delays. Documentation & Reporting: Manage and oversee accurate documentation of all inventory movements, including receiving, shipping, and internal orders. Ensure timely and accurate input of inventory data into ERP and inventory management systems. Create and maintain reports for management, detailing inventory levels, discrepancies, and areas of improvement. Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks in daily warehouse operations and work closely with the Warehouse Manager to implement continuous improvement strategies. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for material handling, storage, and shipping. Optimize workflows to improve overall warehouse efficiency, reducing downtime and improving output. Warehouse Maintenance & Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained, and staff is trained on emergency procedures. Perform routine inspections of warehouse equipment and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure any issues are resolved promptly. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a small team of warehouse employees, providing support, guidance, and training on day-to-day operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Production, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure smooth coordination between departments. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong leadership abilities with the ability to train, mentor, and communicate effectively with team members at all levels. Proficiency in advanced inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. High level of accuracy and focus on detail in all aspects of inventory and documentation. Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve warehouse operations. Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards, material handling, and compliance regulations. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred. 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, inventory management, or fulfillment environment, with experience in a leadership or supervisory role. 2+ years of forklift operation experience; forklift certification required. Experience with straight truck operation is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 pounds. Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and other industrial elements. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and humidity levels. Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings. Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift. Must be able to lift, push, kneel, and pick up items, both small and large. Capability to operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely and efficiently. Work Schedule (Non-Exempt): This position is scheduled on a full-time basis. Specific shift times and workdays are determined by the operation and may vary by location. Business needs may require work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overtime. Scheduled start and end times, assigned shifts, and workdays are subject to change based on staffing and operational requirements. Whenever feasible, advance notice of schedule changes will be provided.
