Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg travel assignment in St. Louis, MO, requiring a minimum of 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience and an active MO or compact RN license. Job Details • Inpatient Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting in St. Louis, MO, • 15-bed unit (with an additional 15 beds under construction), • Patients include medical/surgical cases with post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities, • Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, • Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days and 1:6-7 on nights, • Equipment used includes Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machines, • EMR: Epic, • Every other weekend required, • No on-call requirements, • Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs, • 13-week contract, Job Requirements • Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state license that meets Missouri eligibility requirements, • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), • ACLS certification from AHA preferred, • Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required, • No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months, • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted), • Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift, with significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning of patients with assistance, • Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs, Additional Information • Night shift orientation is conducted on day shift; candidates must be available the entire orientation week, • Flu vaccination (or a Mercy-approved exemption) is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted, • Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment, • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate compared to the posted travel rate, • Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must separate from the facility for at least 1 year or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius, • Black scrubs are required; open-toed shoes are not permitted, • The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
