For more information, visit The Facility Mechanic / Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to support facility operations in a fast paced airport environment. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of building systems, equipment, and outdoor areas. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety minded, and able to work independently in an all weather setting while maintaining professionalism with clients, leadership, and internal teams. Maintain organization of tools, materials, and work areas; ensure job sites are clean, safe, and compliant. Utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) to track work orders, document completed tasks, and communicate with operations and management. Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED required. * 2-10 years of experience in facility maintenance, mechanical repair, building operations, or related trades preferred. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Valid U.S. driver's license required. * Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. * Strong organizational and time‑management skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. * Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime during emergencies and snow events. * Must meet all requirements to obtain an airport SIDA badge and, if applicable, a U.S. Customs Seal, including completion of a 10‑year background check. Facility & Equipment Maintenance * Perform general facility maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, hardware replacement, and preventive maintenance. * Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components. * Conduct scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and preventive maintenance. * Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections. * Keep tools, materials, and work areas organized, clean, safe, and compliant. * Collaborate with site leadership to identify maintenance needs and implement operational improvements. * Provide feedback to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and support client satisfaction. * Support janitorial and facility operations as needed; janitorial experience preferred but not required. * Operate company or client vehicles as required; maintain a valid driver's license. Operational Support * Respond promptly to repair calls via phone, email, text, or radio. * Perform landscaping duties include grass mowing, grass trimming, tree trimming, weeding, grass/leaf raking, and debris removal, and operation of gas/electric equipment. * Conduct snow removal using shovels and snow blowers during winter operations. * Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment failures immediately. * Assist with supply requests and inventory management to maintain appropriate stock levels. * Document all completed work clearly and consistently. * Support customer satisfaction through high‑quality service and proactive communication. * Demonstrate strong organizational discipline, follow‑through, and consistent performance. * Uphold company policies and model professional conduct. Safety, Compliance & Professional Conduct * Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment in accordance with Massport, local, and federal regulations. * Uphold company standards, contractual obligations, and operational expectations. * Communicate professionally with internal teams, leadership, and client representatives to ensure timely service delivery. Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities * Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) to track work orders, document tasks, and communicate with management. * Lead small team or support crew members by providing direction, coaching, and ensuring task completion. * Assist with inventory management and maintaining organized workspaces. * Track and submit work hours accurately in accordance with payroll procedures.
