How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Non-Wovens team, located in Hildebran, NC. As a Warehouse Lead you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Warehouse Lead oversees all forklift and shipping/receiving operations during the assigned shift. This position ensures the safety and security of the facility, coordinates labor resources to meet shipping and receiving goals, and upholds inventory accuracy and product quality. The Warehouse Lead provides leadership on warehouse projects and assignments, supports safety and quality programs, and fosters a culture of servant leadership and accountability. Essential Duties: Ensure the safety and security of the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas throughout the shift. Support company safety programs, conduct or coordinate audits and inspections, and promptly report hazards. Assist in emergency response situations (e.g., spills, fires, or evacuations) by following company protocols. Direct and coordinate forklift drivers and warehouse staff to meet daily shipping and receiving demands. Maintain accurate inventory through coaching, audits, and hands-on support. Lead warehouse projects and special assignments as directed by the Site Supervisor. Provide breaks and shift coverage for team members as needed. Ensure all end-of-shift responsibilities are completed, documented, and audited. Verify that all outgoing products meet or exceed site quality standards prior to shipping. Oversee proper documentation and adherence to shipping/receiving procedures. Monitor equipment such as forklifts, dock doors, dock plates, and door openings; report issues to maintenance. Notify the Site Supervisor of any significant issues, including team altercations, equipment failures, or shipping and receiving concerns. Motivate team members, assess performance, and provide timely feedback and coaching. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance team performance. Collaborate with leadership to recommend changes in procedures, equipment, and workflow to support long-term operational excellence. Model servant leadership, supporting team development and engagement. Hold the warehouse team accountable for safety, quality, and performance metrics (e.g., on-time shipment %, inventory accuracy %, safety incident rate) with Site Supervisor support. Build strong partnerships and maintain a collaborative, positive work environment. Maintain incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Communicate with truck drivers and follow company safety guidelines for facility access. Coordinate movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage /production areas. Maintain positive customer relations. Meet housekeeping expectations. Work weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs. Other duties as assigned. Do you have what it takes? Successful candidates for the role will possess the following: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication; tactful and professional in all interactions. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and support team members in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, positive, flexible, and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and take initiative. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. Takes initiative and asks for help when needed. Commitment to company values, goals, and ethical standards. One-year certificate from college or technical school, preferred. Three to six months related experience and/or trainingor equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience leading projects and/or small teams. Forklift certification: ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire required. Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead assigned teams through daily operational tasks and success measures. Engage in training, coaching, mentoring, influencing and oversight of assigned work groups. Using servant leadership principles, model the company core values as they pertain to established policies, procedures and state law. Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
