We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to become a part of our rapidly growing team and to ensure our company remains compliant with industry regulations. This role reports directly to the QA Supervisor and plays a critical role in ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The Quality Assurance Specialist supports Operations by championing food safety, GMPs, and SOP adherence while helping protect the integrity of the Oats Overnight brand. This is a full-time, non-exempt, onsite role supporting 1st shift operations. What You'll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part Being a food safety and quality champion assisting Operations in GMP and SOP compliance Helping ensure compliance with product safety, consistency, and quality standards in alignment with the Oats Overnight Food Safety Plan Review finished product test results to ensure quality and food safety attributes meet regulatory and internal specifications Draft Certificates of Analysis based on finished goods testing and batch record review Interpret results from laboratory and internal testing to identify issues quickly and support timely resolution Maintain finished product testing reports based on laboratory analysis Track and trend testing results to support continuous quality improvement Coach production associates on GMPs, sanitation practices, and quality checks to identify risk factors that could lead to non-conforming product Audit batching, processing, and filler documentation and escalate issues when non-conformances are identified Coordinate communication between manufacturing, warehousing, and QA personnel for finished product release Document customer complaints, investigate issues, and track and trend complaints for potential food safety risks Maintain accurate and thorough records of tests, audits, and other quality procedures Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary Required Operations / Food Safety Responsibilities This role is responsible for collaboration with other departments to identify and address food safety risks throughout the production process with other food safety team members This role is responsible for product quality and food safety and for maintaining hygiene conditions in the plant Ensures and promotes food safety throughout the facility Ensure compliance with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices What You've Done And Who You Are 1-5 years of experience in quality roles within food or dietary supplement manufacturing, or an equivalent relevant Chemistry or Microbiology degree High school diploma required; some college coursework in Chemistry or Microbiology preferred Experience and desire to support a culture built on collaboration, idea-sharing, and cross-functional teamwork Conscientious, reliable, and detail-oriented Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively Team player and self-starter able to work both independently and collaboratively Must be able to read and write English Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles Adept at making quick assessments and identifying the best course of action Why You Might Like Working Here This is going to be fun Casual, friendly culture - we're serious about what we do but don't take ourselves too seriously Every employee has equity High growth potential with opportunities to expand Free oatmeal (it's very good) Why You Might Not Like Working Here It's not a cushy job - the bar is high We are growing quickly and operate in a fast-paced environment Physical Demands Must be able to work near food ingredients and be exposed to food allergens Must be able to lift up to 15-25 pounds at times Work is performed inside an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment Prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and working on a computer Must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards The Perks Full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) Parental leave 4 weeks of paid time off Weekly pay Stock options - every employee is an owner Free, delicious oatmeal And Last, But Never Least...
