Title: Warehouse Associate Department: Operations Reports to: Operations Supervisor Position Summary This position will start as a material handler and will also train in shipping & receiving. Follows all food safety guidelines. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the food production industry. Works with production, shipping/receiving, and quality control department to facilitate material and information flow. Participates in clean up, packaging equipment set up, material organization, and improving processes through the use of SUMMIT. Receives incoming raw materials and packaging. Validates quantities and product received, enters into NetSuite to finalize receipt of incoming product. Refused any damaged materials and reports to Procurement of any rejections. Puts away all materials received in designated bins, coolers and freezer. Processing bin transfers in NetSuite accurately and completely. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the receiving. Essential Job Functions Identifies and anticipates production and shipping needs and replenishes packaging and raw materials. Receive trucks, unload, and check in raw materials, verifying against packing slips. Utilize Company proprietary software and internal ERP system to complete daily work. Put away finished product and raw materials to appropriate locations. Samples raw materials and submits to QC to process raw material put-away's. Pulls skids and disposition for reuse / properly dispose of materials & waste. Sets up packaging equipment as needed. Learn and become proficient on material handling equipment (picker, reach truck, walkie/stacker, drum racker, etc.) Assist in identifying new ingredient / finished product locations as needed. Assist in inventory variance investigations. Operates with a sense of urgency. Ability to multi-task, assist colleagues and manage his/her own time throughout the day. Works collaboratively in a team environment Is willing to flex into other departments as needed. Accurately and timely receives and inspect incoming raw materials and packaging. Ideally within 24 hours of receipt or sooner for temperature sensitive raw materials. Immediately notifies Procurement of any raw materials arriving damaged or quantity discrepancies. Prepare for future deliveries within the next 2-4 days. Rearranging coolers and freezers to accommodate incoming materials versus waiting to day of delivery which could leave temperature sensitive materials out longer than ideal to maintain high quality product. Perform cleaning function of coolers by following Food Safety standards as directed by FS Food Safety. Maintain clean/safe work areas, machines, equipment, and product packaging according to safety and SQF standards (proper GMP's and sanitary procedures). Understands HazMat labeling and paperwork requirements in accordance with those requirements. Using proper equipment for the task as hand and following proper lifting techniques when lifting manually or using proper equipment (forklift, dolly, pallet jack, shrink wrap machine, etc.) Able to pass certification of forklift, manual and electric pallet jacks, order pickers as needed. Stocks raw materials and packaging in appropriate bins, cooler and/or freezer locations. Receive trucks, unload, and check in merchandise, verifying against packing slips. May provide raw material sample to QA for testing, as necessary. Assist with inventory cycle counts and inventory process when scheduled. Notify Procurement of MRO (Material Repair and Operations items at minimum levels-toilet paper, paper towels, gloves, hairnets, beard nets, etc.) Inspects and documents inspection of forklifts and equipment daily. End of shift place equipment on charging station as required. Follows all 5S practices. All other duties as assigned. Minimum requirementsEducation: High school diploma (or GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Work Experience: Prior Material Handling or Warehouse environment experience required. Has been a packager at FS or similar function at another organization for 3 months preferred. Shipping & Receiving experience is also preferred. Industry Knowledge: Food manufacturing preferred. Flexibility-willing and able to accept all other duties as assigned. Hard skills: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Ability to utilize tablet and internal company software for daily work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lb. on regular basis, 100 lb. on occasional basis.
