Warehouse Lead

SUMMARY: The incumbent will direct, lead, and assign activities related to inbound/outbound shipments, provide daily guidance to employees and coordinate activities concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, supplies and finished goods in the warehouse. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Verifies, identifies, and inspects a wide variety of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies, referring to purchase orders and shipping documents. • Notes and records shortages and damaged material. • Determines if incoming material require inspection or testing and maintains lot traceable documentation. • Uses forklift to transport material to work or storage areas. • Entering inventory transactions directly into computer system. • Use of barcode labels and scanners to track inventory. • Monitors first in first out control of inventory. • Assembles orders for shipments. • Counts, weighs and checks against customer order and reports shortages. Selects packaging for materials not packed. • Specifies types of crates or skids for bulky material. • Selects routing and carrier when not specified and/or follows customers routing guides. • Prepares and assembles required shipping documents. • Loads trailers and arranges for carrier pick up. • Keep files of shipping records. • Reading, math, and communication skills. • Perform Cycle Counts, enter counts, and reconcile and variances. • Proficient with the UPS and FedEx terminals, including end-of-day closing. • Able to perform the monthly close for the warehouse. • Train new employees on policies and work instructions • Assist in creating work instructions. • Will participate in ISO Quality Audits on an yearly basis for SAL • Will be responsible for approving biweekly Payroll timecards for all Warehouse team. • Will be managing Warehouse time off requests. • Assists management with hiring and on-boarding new warehouse house staff as needed. • Assist the manager to create and implement work instructions. • Flexibility to work overtime when needed to meet business demands • Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or GED • 4 plus years of related experience • Must be a certified forklift trainer and train /certifies new hires. • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft D365, or other ERP & business system software is a plus. • Excellent, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. • Diligent and detail oriented. • Ability to manage competing priorities, shift gears to react to urgent scenarios and meet daily commitments • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and accountability in responding to operation needs and requests for service and assistance. • Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance. • Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the role. • Showcase excellent leadership skills to promote and foster an engaged and empower team • Ability to multitask • Have the ability to handle situations with tact and diplomacy • Must be result oriented PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
