Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Child & Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Location: Chula Vista, CaliforniaStart Date: June 2026Schedule: Onsite Monday Thursday 10-hour shifts (40 hours per week) Position Overview We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide child and adolescent outpatient behavioral health services in a collaborative clinical setting. The provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for pediatric patients. Opportunity Highlights Child & adolescent outpatient psychiatry practiceConsistent 4-day work week scheduleCollaborative behavioral health care teamStructured outpatient clinic environmentHigh-priority coverage opportunity Job Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescentsDiagnose and treat mental health and behavioral health conditionsProvide medication management and adjust treatment plans as neededDevelop and implement individualized treatment plansProvide follow-up care and ongoing patient monitoringMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMRCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary behavioral health team membersParticipate in care coordination and treatment planning discussionsEnsure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standardsEducate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and behavioral health management Qualifications Active Nurse Practitioner licenseBoard Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferredDEA license or eligibilityExperience in child and adolescent psychiatry or behavioral health preferredAbility to perform psychiatric evaluations and medication managementExperience working in a collaborative interdisciplinary care environment Working Hours Onsite scheduleMonday Thursday10-hour shifts40 hours per weekDaytime outpatient clinic hoursNo overnight shiftsNo on-call responsibilities Skills Strong knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders and treatment modalitiesExpertise in psychopharmacology and medication managementAbility to perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluationsStrong clinical judgment and decision-making skillsExcellent communication skills with pediatric patients and familiesAbility to develop evidence-based treatment plansProficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) documentationAbility to work effectively within an interdisciplinary behavioral health teamStrong organizational and time management skills in an outpatient setting
