Shipping and Receiving specialist

Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk Specialist I Location: East Greenbush, NY Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk Specialist I to join a growing operations team in East Greenbush, NY. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials and products are received, processed, and shipped accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires physical activity, including lifting, standing, and frequent movement throughout the shift. Key Responsibilities Accurately receive, inspect, and process incoming and outgoing shipments Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices (targeting 99%+ accuracy) Prepare and stage orders for outbound shipments Identify and report discrepancies in shipments to leadership Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts Follow established material flow and warehouse processes Perform data entry and basic reporting using computer systems (including Excel) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors QualificationsRequired: 1+ year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or similar role Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office, internet use) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (reaching, squatting, twisting) Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset Preferred Traits: Process-driven and dependable Sense of urgency and accountability Willingness to learn and contribute to team success Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Work Environment Warehouse/operations setting Physically active role with consistent movement throughout the day Benefits A comprehensive benefits package is available, including: Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage 401(k) plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
