About Your Role The Construction Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that building projects meet required standards, plans, and safety regulations. They inspect work on-site, review materials and workmanship, and report issues to ensure any problems are corrected and the project meets quality expectations. Education Requirements High School Diploma What You'll Need to Get the Job Done Knowledge of administration of construction public works contracts. Understand the construction processes and methods, materials and their use, characteristics, preparation and/or installation. Knowledge of Construction specifications and standards. Experience with the characteristics and capabilities of construction equipment, and tools used in construction inspection. Familiar with construction surveying practices and requirements. Know safety practices to be followed during construction. Knowledge of quality standards and test methods for construction materials. What Will Make You Stand Out ACI Level 1; ICC - Reinforced concrete, Structural steel and bolting, Structural masonry, Prestressed Concrete, Structural steel welding - Required Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - Preferred Interact effectively to problem solve and partner with citizens, community groups and/or contractors. Read and interpret survey notes and perform survey-related computations. Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, codes, laws, and contracts. Perform math calculations associated with the computation or estimation of construction progress, dimensions, quantities, and costs. Maintain construction records; document daily construction activities and write related reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diversity of construction personnel, equipment operators, supervisors and crews, and contractors. What You'll Do Attend project preparation, design reviews and pre-construction conferences; reviews plans and specifications Provide quality assurance for our projects with the purpose of observing and documenting construction work for conformance with the applicable building codes, plans and specifications. Inspection of concrete, steel reinforcement, masonry, anchors, structural steel welding, and fireproofing. Requires corrections to be made when deficiencies are discovered; assists owners, contractors, engineers in determining how corrections may be made to achieve code compliance.
