Job Title: Production LeadJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Production Lead who prioritizes human safety, food safety, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, and product quality. As a Production Lead, you will oversee daily activities, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes. Responsibilities Monitor and lead workers in daily activities, ensuring adherence to packaging specifications and work orders. Ensure compliance with all safety rules and resolve or communicate any issues or concerns. Operate a handheld scanner and manage manufacturing software to maintain inventory accuracy. Reconcile department staging area using Mapics RF tools and utilize a computer to run basic automated reports. Schedule and monitor breaks for crew members and operate production equipment safely. Perform and assign housekeeping and sanitation responsibilities according to GMPs. Monitor product quality and safety documentation, ensuring proper procedures are followed. Update the communication board daily and conduct shift change meetings with incoming leads. Perform and assign all required QC testing and direct crew members toward efficient production. Ensure all HACCP and CQP documentation and checks are completed as prescribed. Communicate allergen procedures and policies to employees and ensure compliance. Use basic math skills to calculate ingredient quantities and ensure smooth shift transitions. Participate in Safety & Quality programs and perform all other related duties as required. Essential Skills Production experience General labor Supervision Continuous improvement Production supervision Additional Skills & Qualifications One to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Proficiency in English to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret graphs. Reasoning ability to apply common sense and deal with standardized problems. Why Work Here? The company is investing significantly in this site, its first US location. Work Environment Work in a food manufacturing environment where Good Manufacturing Practices are crucial. Employees are required to wear uniforms, hair nets, beard nets, and safety shoes. Sanitation practices such as washing and sanitizing hands and boots before entering production areas are mandatory. The facility includes 8 production rooms with 2-4 people per line and 4 packaging lines, operating two shifts: 1st Shift (3 am-1:30 pm, Mon-Thurs) and 2nd Shift (12 pm-2:30 am, Mon-Thurs). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
